It's Gettin' Chilly

Upon putting a blanket on the bed last night, Lucy decided to get a little more snuggled in than expected. No, she does not usually sleep like this. However, she does sleep on the bed.
Winny, on the other hand, is not allowed on the bed. I guess she just wanted to see what Lucy was enjoying so much.
Our silly puppies!

Good news: We are getting a fence next week! Not too many more chilly morning I have to bear taking the dogs out.

Halloween Hang-Out

After we had a great Mexican meal, we started our pumpkin carving contest. Hope and Joe scooped out all the gunck. Haley was the seed-sorter and made sure everyone had plenty of yummy toasted pumpkin seeds.

Our finished products.

Mike did the singing ghosts (bad picture, it looked really cool)!
Hope and Joe did the scull and crossbones.
I did the Spider Web

Halloween Decorations

For our first Halloween, Hunter and I decided we'd decorate. We picked out lights for the outside and fun stuff for the inside. We are ready!
I have never done these spider webs, but they were fun.

Our table is decorated for the monthly Mottel dinner with Hunter's sisters. Everyone has a themed placemat. Winny likes these spider webs and LOVES to get into them and pull them down. It was funny the first time, but I've already gotten tired of fixing them and put them high enough that she can't get to them now.
Here is a picture of our moon the other night. Looks like Mr. Moon is ready for Halloween too!
Winny's new favorite spot!
Here are our lights. We have a spider web light, a pumpkin, a tree, and little ghosts.

Here is one without the flash, but a little blurry.

Now all we have to do is decide what we are going to dress up as.

USC vs. Kentucky

For the Kentucky game, we took a road trip to Summerville. We went to see our friends Michael and Gillian for a weekend full of football.

Us before the game...
...and after the game.
I guess since the game was at 12:30, we were so pumped up that we woke up early. But once everyone left, we all crashed.
Hunter would like everyone to see how I am hogging the couch and how I have a pillow and he doesn't (I think he wants some sympathy!)

Once we all woke up, we got ready to go out and watch MORE football. But first we made a quick stop to see my newest cousin, Campbell.

Thanks Stephen and Caroline for letting us stop by. It was great to see you! Special thanks to Fordham and Pinckney for all the yummy snacks they "cooked" for us. Fordham showed me his new room and even let me read Cat and the Hat to him before he went to bed. Campbell, you are just precious and I know you will have a ton of fun with your brothers. I hope you don't think your family is too crazy when you grow up!

6 months

Six months ago I married my best friend.
In some ways it doesn't seem like it has already been that long ago until I think back to that day. Most of the details are fuzzy and I remember the most from pictures and video. So today we spent the day running errans, decorating our house for halloween, and just hanging out together (my favorite thing to do).
We also watch the video Christine and Sean made of the wedding and reception. That made it all seem real all over again. It was so fun to see it from another point of view and to have that special day recorded forever. Thank you guys so much for all the hard work you put into it! It is perfect!
So, to Hunter, here are six reasons why I love being married to you:
1. I love when you make me laugh
2. When I work, you have dinner ready when I get home
3. You know that Oreo's and milk or a bowl of Cookie Dough ice cream will solve everything!
4. You take the dogs out before you leave for work so I can sleep a little longer
5. You don't mind watching Pretty Woman EVERY TIME it comes on TBS for the whole weekend!
6. Last, but not least...you listen to my stories about crazy customers and insurance problems that I deal with all day. And even though you know nothing about what I'm talking about, you still listen.
Happy 6 Months!
Love,
Jess

Diploma

My diploma was ready for pick-up this week. I took it to the same shop that did Hunter's so they would cordinate.

I wanted them to compliment each other, so I got the "girly" version. Basically I have a garnet mat and Hunter has black.
Hunter picked it up for me and already had it on the wall when I got home from work. I think it looks great and feels like such an accomplishment every time I look at it!

USC Football

Well football season is back in gear and that means it's time to tailgate!
These are pictures from the USC vs. GA game.

This season will be Hope's first as a real USC student.
For Mike and me, it's our first as Alumni!

I made a cake for the game and was so proud of how it turned out, of course I had to take pictures of it.

Here is my Fun-fetti cake before the icing. Here is the finished product!
I was so excited about it! It even tasted as good as it looked!
Since I now have the life of a working girl, I haven't been able to tailgate for any of the other home games. I look forward to going more in October. Especially if the weather stays this cool!
