White Coat

On Tuesday, Hope had her White Coat Ceremony to mark the beginning of Pharmacy School. Seemed weird to sit on the other side and think about how fast four years goes by and how much I have learned. This will be my first time not going "back to school" in 20 years.
Me, 4 years ago
Now the school has a new name, new dean, and a whole new way of learning.
Congratulations Hope!
I can say that you are entering a promising and honorable profession. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Good luck and I'll always be here to answer all your questions. I know you have worked hard to get to this point and you will work even harder to get through it. Just remember that everything you learn is important, even if you don't use it until your final rotations. Maybe you will finally convert Joe to a Carolina fan...one can only hope. I bet he has a Georgia shirt on under the blue one.

Great Outdoors

On Saturday, we went to Ober Gatlinburg. Sydney got to ice skate for the first time. Terri, Will and Syndey did great on the ice.

About to go down the Alpine Slide
It was funny that it hasn't changed much since I went with Mom and Dad about 18 years ago!
Sunday we went to Dolly Wood. Dolly was there that day, but we didn't see her. Didn't get many pictures, but we had a great time. They roller-coasters were fun and we got SOAKED on a new ride called River Battle.
If you look closely, the only person who didn't duck was Hunter!
Winny Pooh is growing fast. She hasn't gained much weight, but she has gotten taller.
On night Hunter fell asleep with Lucy on one side and Winny on the other.

Mountain Vacation

Last Thrusday, Hunter, Winny, Lucy, and I went to Pigeon Forge for our family vacation. We stayed in a log cabin with my parents, Terri, Will, Sydney, and Piper. It was fun taking the dogs and they did very well in the car for almost 5 hours. On Friday, we went to Wonder Works and had a great time. There were lots of interactive exhibits and fun thing to do.

Mom, Dad, and Hunter experienced the Bed of Nails.

Congrats!

Congratulations to Kim and JP!
We had a great time and everything was beautiful!
Mrs. Comer, Mike, and Haley.

Only problem...no picture of the bride and groom.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Phil!

Hope you have a great day.

Be sure to eat some "China" for us! I'm sure Lucy and Winny wish we were there to eat with you as much as we do.

Love,

Hunter, Jessica, Lucy, and Winny

New Wheels

My fortune came true: I bought my dream car! I have driven the same car since I started driving (8 years). My Corolla has been so good through the hundreds of trips back and forth from Columbia to Home, trips to the beach, etc. I remember driving home from class at USCA when it rolled over to 100,000 miles.
For Christmas/Graduation combo, Mom and Dad gave me the money for a down payment. They knew I'd be looking at a new car!
Here are all my babies and me!
Winny rides in a crate and Lucy seems to like the wind in her face. I guess I should get her some Doggles!
I can't wait to have many fun trips in this beauty.
Thanks Mom and Dad for helping me with the financing. It is greatly appreciated.
Goodbye 'Roller, we had lots of good rides together.
And don't worry Hunter, I'll let you drive...................sometimes.

Finally...

I have been anxiously waiting and hoping I was going to be able to post this:
Today, I received my application for my pharmacist license!!! Which means I passed the NAPLEX! I am so excited and relieved to have my exams over with! I have been going crazy and driving everyone else crazy (esp Hunter) waiting for my scores.
Thanks to everyone who prayed and prayed hard for me. Thanks for all the encouraging thoughts and all the confidence you have had in me!
YAY!

Our Newest Addition

On Saturday, we added one more to our little family. Meet Winny (short for Winchester) our new German Shorthair! Hunter have been talking about getting another dog and playmate for Lucy since we got married. Now that the boards are over (hopefully), this was a good time to do it. She is so cute and is already a little handful. Good thing is that she sleeps a lot!

If Lucy could talk, I think she would say, "Is she staying? I don't know about this."
The breeder says she shows the more potential with great conformation. It is so cute because she already points. Her and Lucy has these stare downs and then chase each other all over the place. Lucy really does like having someone to play with. Lucy also likes Winny to know she is the dominant one. But little does Lucy know that in about a month, Winny will be bigger then her. We'll see who's pushing who around then!
I think it is so fun to watch them. Not growing up with siblings in the house, this is really a new dynamic for me to watch. It is so funny how much they are like children, always wanted what the other has. When Winny barks, Lucy will start barking louder, almost as if it's a sympathy bark (like she missed something important) or she is just really wanted our attention.
I'm sure there will be many more stories about these two as we add one more to the mix.
Next project: fence!

July?

Now that it's the first weekend in August, I've been wondering where July went. Here is a quick update of what went on here during July.
Hunter and I visited his grandparents in Hilton Head for the Forth. We had a blast! And when we couldn't go fishing, we rented jet skis with Janet, Steve, and Rob and rode around in the Calabogie Sound. It was so fun and Hunter loved jumping the wake of the big boats. It was my first time to drive one and I must admit, I was not very good at it. I let Hunter drive the majority of the time and I just hung on for dear life! On the Forth, we watch fireworks from the boat. Here is one with Red, White, and Blue lights.

Now Lucy is a Salty Dog.One day I felt I was running a zoo. I woke up to Lucy barking to go outside. When I opened the door there were two other dogs in the back yard. One had a collar and I called the owner and she came to get him. They lived in the neighborhood and she said her kids had let him out. The other dog had a collar, but no tag and hung around the house ALL DAY. Once Hunter got home we took Lucy and said dog for a walk to see if anyone knew who he belonged it. A car pulled up and the girl jumped out and took "Louie" home. She didn't thank us for keeping him all day or for listening to him whine at the door or anything. Just picked him up and left. Well, the next morning, he was BACK! Now we knew his name, but not where he lived. I got up with Hunter and when he left for work, I circled the neighborhood looking for the car that picked him up. Of course, it was not to be found. Louie stayed at the house all day again, whined, and slept in our newly landscaped bushes. No one came looking for him that night, and he was still there in the morning. I thought, "Ya know, I'm all about helping other dogs, but this one has a home and his parents don't seem to care that other people are taking care of him all day." Besides all that, one of this feet were hurt and he was limping. I felt terrible, but I wanted him to be out of our bushes. I couldn't take Lucy outside to potty without him all over her and then trying to get back into the house. It was crazy. On top of all that, we had this turtle show up. Lucy had no idea what to think of it. And now we have a tree frog that seems to like our house. I don't mind him as long as he doesn't jump on me. I wish he would eat the gnats!
Mr. Turtle slowly made its way back toward the creek that is behind our house. And later that day Louie did finally leave. I'm not sure where he went, but I hope he made it home. Lucy helped fold laundry as usual. I think the nice, clean, warm towels are her favorite.
The Chinese place sent me a great fortune. I know it will come true soon! I can't wait to have a new car, I just have to find out if I will have an income to get it.

So that was our July in a nut shell. Hunter has been busy with projects with work and I'm in the waiting period for my scores. Thanks to all that sent their prayers my way. I definitely felt them and continue to pray for the results to be good. I don't even care about the score I just hope I passed!
