Handyman Hubby

My hubby has been busy with lots of projects this past week. I'm so impressed he knows how to do this stuff! Here are a few pictures of what he's done.
Old faucet
New faucet
New ceiling fan in the master
Towel hook
Double towel bar
Robe hook
I organized the towels into pretty basketsMade the bed with all our new thingsPut together the guest bathroomAnd removed Lucy's crate from the bathroom. This was her depressed it was gone and she was looking for it. It look her a few minutes to get over this one!Hunter also replaced all 4 brake pads on his car. Who knows how much money that saved!

Update

Week 1:
Obviously week 1 was a breeze. A honeymoon in Paradise, people to wait on you hand and foot, not a care in the world. It was everything I dreamed it would be.
Week 2:
Like I have written before, this was the shocker. I kept thinking (and still sometimes do), "Are we really married? Do I live here?" You know, questions like that seem to make me look twice at the now two rings on my left hand. Honestly, this was a hard week for me. I didn't know where anything went, had no clue what to do. I was surrounded by gifts, clothes, shoes, and tons of bathroom stuff to put up without a clue of where it went. Hunter was very understanding and knew it would take some adjusting on both of our parts. He was trying to get things done around the house that he didn't have time to do before the wedding and I was just trying to find my place. I obviously felt a little home sick at times. Hunter was working almost 12 hour days since someone went on vacation the week he came back. So I was at home with Lucy. We basically slept, eat, and watched TV. She is a lazy dog and was quite happy with not being locked up. Not a very productive week.
I went home on Friday to get more of my things moved out. Mom and I went to see Chicago which was great and then she had to drop me off at Hunter's parents house, since we were staying there. The swapping has already begun. We always wondered how it would be to have both families in the same town, but really it's not bad and we see both sides pretty equally. This was totally weird for Mom and me both. Saturday, we eat breakfast, went to see the grandparents, stopped by my house, and came back to Lexington.
We got all the gifts, more of my clothes, and shoes to take back. Hunter also drove his truck down with a trailer so we could take a piece of my furniture back.
Week 3:
Rearranged my clothes in my furniture. It felt right for them to be where they belong. I figured out where all the other clothes would have a new home and organized them. By then, I was starting to feel more at home. We had cooked a lot together and been doing some home improvement projects, so things were looking up.
We stayed in Lexington this past weekend and did more "improvements."
Week 4:
So far so good. Feeling used to the space now and used to Hunter...I think. It's funny how much to thought you knew about a person, till you live with them. All the little things you find they do completely opposite of you. And I'm sure there are things I do that he doesn't understand either. So we are working on it and enjoying the time we have together. We love doing everything together: go to the grocery store, Lowe's, lake...whatever it is, we just like being together.
Just maybe we have found out what marriage is all about!

IT WORKS!!!

Holy Cow, I can't believe it works! The video works! Now everyone can see how great my hubby is for putting this together for me! YAY!!! Can you tell I'm excited???

The Video

Here is the video you all have been requesting. I'm not sure how it will look, and didn't even thing the blogger would let me upload it, but here it is. If you joined us at the rehearsal dinner, you know how great this is and how much effort it took to make it play right. If you weren't there, this is a video of photos Hunter made of us growing up and then photos of us together. He spent many long, hard hours making sure everything was perfect and each song was exactly right for the pictures. He spent so much time on this and I'm so happy to share it with everyone. Pray it works and Enjoy!

Back to Reality

Once we landed on Saturday, we drove straight to Hunter's parents house to get Lucy. We were so excited to get her back. Thanks for watching her! Then we stayed at my house which was completely weird. Skeebo wouldn't even get on the bed. He just would growl at Hunter like "What are you doing here?" It was so funny. It was great to see everyone at church Sunday. But a lot of our friends were out of town, since it was Spring Break (Master's Week). Once we got back to the house Sunday, we saw the sign Dad and Mr. Phil put up Friday. This was at our rehearsal dinner and it was fun to see it in the yard!
Lucy was glad to be back at her house too! I felt like I was in a strangers house, but I'm getting used to it now. Sunday night Hunter went around the labeled all the light switches so I would know what did what. You think this sounds trivial, but each panel has 3-4 switches on it and the logic...well there is none. You would think that the switch closest to you would turn on the light closest to you. Not hardly. It is basically the opposite. So this has helped me learn the order.

My first duties as a wife have been pretty humorous. Not so bright and early Monday morning Hunter flew out of bed after realizing he was going to be late for work. So I got up with him and tried to find clothes for him to wear, ironed them, packed his lunch, and grabbed him a pop-tart. I think he liked having the help in the morning. Lucy definitely liked staying in bed and not being locked in the bathroom!
Later I washed our clothes from the honeymoon. After I completed the 4 loads, I realized I had no clue where his stuff went and no place for my stuff! So it is still in piles. I'm still working on that today.
My interview yesterday went well. I was told there was one more candidate to interview, so I don't know how many total were up for the position. I would really like the life-style this job brings, but I still have Bi-Lo to fall back on if I don't get it.
Last night we cooked our first dinner. We rearranged the kitchen with all of our new stuff and got to cooking. I took pictures, but the blogger won't let me add them.
Menu: Flat-iron steak, baked vegetables, tomato and mozzarella salad.
What I did: Prep vegetables, marinated steak, and put salad together.
Hunter cooked the steak and chopped vegetables and got them into the oven.
It was a joint effort which I really love.
Tonight: Chicken, left-over vegetables, butter noodles, and salad.

A Honeymoon in Paradise

Here are some pictures from our fabulous week in Playa del Carmen, Mexico at The Royal Resort.
When you arrive, you are greeted with champagne and a cold towel. Once we got to our room, we had this dessert waiting on us.
Hunter was ready to relax!
Our view from the balcony.

Ready to eat our first all-inclusive meal. I tell ya, if you can afford it, it's the way to go. It makes for a truly "worry-free" vacation!
The view at night.
The lobby.

On Tuesday, we headed straight for the beach after ordering room service breakfast. This proved to be our routine for the week. I was a huge fan of these beach beds!

Us at dinner.
Our room was on the third floor in the corner.
Showing off our new jewelery!
My Mexican Flag drink.
This was the cigar and tequila bar.
Hunter with his Cuban.
Wednesday we walked to 5th Avenue, which is considered the shopping district for Playa. It was only a block from the hotel entrance.

I couldn't get over the pharmacy custom down there. You just walk in and buy whatever you want. This was my favorite sign! Makes me laugh!
The hotel at night.
Entrance into the lobby.
Us after dinner.

Thursday we decided to go see one of the nightly shows at the hotel.
This was about the history of Mexico. They had great costumes!

Friday was our last day. We had been trying to go parasailing all week, but the wind was too strong! It was something neither one of us had done and were really looking forward to it. Well, once we knew we couldn't go Friday, we decided to take the ferry over to Cozumel. It was only a 30 minute trip. There were two cruise ships docked. It is a lot like Playa...same shops and souvenirs.

We ate lunch at the "Smallest Hard Rock Cafe in the world." This picture really does show it all!
It seemed so hot that day, so we stayed in the shade at Fat Tuesdays as we waited to get on the ferry.
Our last dinner.
Then it was time to pack and say goodbye to our wonderful honeymoon! I can't wait to go back one day!
Hunter, you did such an amazing job picking this place! I couldn't have asked for anything more and everything I did ask for far exceeded my expectations! Thanks for such a great trip!
