Christmas at Disney

Hunter and I went to Disney for the first week in December. We went to Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Here we are at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner with the characters.
We saw the Christmas Parade and watched the fireworks.

Then the Castle is lit with all of it's Christmas lights.

We went by the Grand Floridian to see the giant Gingerbread House.

Big Thursday

So the rivals meet again. This year we headed to the beach for the Monckton Football Party!

For the "away" game years, Terri and Billy host a huge party for everyone to come and enjoy the game. There is a poster contest and here is what Hunter and I came up with: I thought it was pretty creative, but we didn't win.
For those of you who don't know, Billy is the only one in his family to graduate from USC. So there is a bit of family harassment going on. Here is the Tiger (Big Bill), Moe, and David presenting Billy with pictures from his childhood dressed in Clemson garb and waving his Clemson flag. Needless to say, Billy was completely surprised and was a good sport. There were even buttons passed out so that everyone could be a part of Billy's nightmare.
This was the area for the Clemson fans. Notice how no one is in there?? It filled up during the game, but this was taken when we were setting everything up.
Here is The Zone, aka Man Room, for the Carolina fans. Here is the poster that beat us out. It looked pretty good!
I have no idea how many people were there. We guessed a least a hundred including a ton of kids.
Two years ago, when Carolina beat Clemson at Clemson, this commemorative Rock was created. So here are the guys reclaiming their Rock.

Thanks Terri and Billy for letting us stay with you!
We had a blast even though the outcome was not as we had hoped!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving, aka Mottel Turkey Fest, was another success this year. Here is Hunter his Grandparents and ALL of his cousins.
We had a great time and ate a ton of great food. With a crowd like this, there were 4 or 5 turkeys, a ham, and a pork loin. The Mottel's know how to eat, guess that's why I fit in so good (except for the blonde hair)!
As far as my family goes, this was another Thanksgiving in the hospital. It was Mom's turn two years ago, so I guess Dad thought he would give it a try this year. He has pneumonia and stayed for about 5 days. He was sent home on Sunday, but still had fever. A week later, more fever and back to the doctor. Currently, he is on 2 antibiotics and is doing better. I think the second drug is starting to work. I worked in NA for 3 days last week and had him on a schedule of Motrin every 6 hours to try and control it. Seems like Mom has taken over this role and it's starting to work. Hopefully by Thursday, he'll be feeling as good as new!

Busy

Just encase you were wondering where we've been, as far as the Blogger world in concerned, we've been BUSY! I knew it had been a while, but had no idea it has been almost 2 months since the last blog. Here is what we've been up to!

Finally!

Does anything look different about our backyard????? We finally got a FENCE! We are so excited and so are the dogs.
I love being about the let them run around and not have to worry about having, mainly Winny, on a leash all the time. Hunter and the pups love playing fetch. I hope this will give them a little more exercise too.

Our Bug is Getting Big

Winny is not a puppy anymore! She is growing and growing.
We figure she is about half-way to her max height. German Shorthair females are usually about 45 pounds and about 2.5 feet tall.
She is doing well with her taining. She can sit, shake, and lay down. We are working on "stay" and she definately likes to put her paws on the counter top. This is one of the only pictures of them together.
She may think her name is "No" at times, but she has a few nick-names like Winn Bug and I call her a Monster since she is getting so big.

Happy Halloween!

On Halloween, Hunter and I stayed at home and passed out candy. As a kid, the only people who would come to my house for candy were the friends I went Trick-of-Treating with. I had so much fun being the one to pass out the candy and see all the cute costumes! My favorite was this little princess with a skirt that had color changing lights in it! I think Hunter liked the Power Rangers since he seemed to give the boys more candy! We even had someone come with dog treats for our Lady Bug and Bumble Bee.
Here are our little monsters all dressed up:
Needless to say they were both miserable and the costumes only lasted long enough for these pictures! They were very good sports for entertaining me. Thanks Hunter for being good sport too, I know you would like everyone to know that you had nothing to do with this!

It's Gettin' Chilly

Upon putting a blanket on the bed last night, Lucy decided to get a little more snuggled in than expected. No, she does not usually sleep like this. However, she does sleep on the bed.
Winny, on the other hand, is not allowed on the bed. I guess she just wanted to see what Lucy was enjoying so much.
Our silly puppies!

Good news: We are getting a fence next week! Not too many more chilly morning I have to bear taking the dogs out.

Halloween Hang-Out

After we had a great Mexican meal, we started our pumpkin carving contest. Hope and Joe scooped out all the gunck. Haley was the seed-sorter and made sure everyone had plenty of yummy toasted pumpkin seeds.

Our finished products.

Mike did the singing ghosts (bad picture, it looked really cool)!
Hope and Joe did the scull and crossbones.
I did the Spider Web

Halloween Decorations

For our first Halloween, Hunter and I decided we'd decorate. We picked out lights for the outside and fun stuff for the inside. We are ready!
I have never done these spider webs, but they were fun.

Our table is decorated for the monthly Mottel dinner with Hunter's sisters. Everyone has a themed placemat. Winny likes these spider webs and LOVES to get into them and pull them down. It was funny the first time, but I've already gotten tired of fixing them and put them high enough that she can't get to them now.
Here is a picture of our moon the other night. Looks like Mr. Moon is ready for Halloween too!
Winny's new favorite spot!
Here are our lights. We have a spider web light, a pumpkin, a tree, and little ghosts.

Here is one without the flash, but a little blurry.

Now all we have to do is decide what we are going to dress up as.
