Success

We are officially homeowners! We closed on our house Friday and have already picked out paint colors and plan to move furniture tomorrow. Lucy enjoyed prancing around and checking everything out. I think Hunter had to sign his name 100 times Friday. We laughed at how it kept getting worse as the hour went on. I only had to sign a few papers and initial others.

The first purchases for our new home. The essentials: water hose, sprinkler head, and toilet paper. The first two were needed since the sellers had great landscaping started and everything was starting to die. The last item is self-explanatory. Hunter bought painting supplies today and has the U-Haul packed and ready to go in the morning. The good thing is, we have a month to get him out of his apartment before his lease ends. This will give us time to paint, build a fence, and buy a refrigerator.

On another note...I found my dress this past Thursday! I'm really excited and glad that I finally found one. It was my favorite and I knew that it was the one for me. Thanks to everyone at The House of the Bride for putting up with me and my four trips it took to find the perfect dress!

Update

Well I succeeded in finding a bridesmaid's dress that I liked for cheaper price...about $60 cheaper! It also comes in some pretty shades of blue, but I think I 'm set on one. Also, we have officially set the time of our wedding to be at 4:00 in the afternoon. Hunter liked the idea of an earlier wedding, so this was one thing he got to decide on. He has been helpful with decision making. He rather me check things out and ask for his opinion later, once there are only a few options to choose from.

We are closing on our house this Friday. I'm very excited and have already started looking at paint colors. We also need to start looking at refrigerators and fencing for the backyard. It has been determined that Lucy is a digger, like most beagles are, so we are looking at options to keep her from getting out. The house backs up to the woods and we would like to keep the view, so that will also go into the decision making.

Wedding Update

We have been making lots of appointments the last few weeks. One thing is for sure, I've found it very hard to decide on a dress! I know I need to do this soon, but I like them all. I've been to stores in Greenville, Aiken, and Augusta. Actually, I've been to the store in Augusta twice and I still can't decide! Also, I found that you can't talk to florists until you have your dress and know what the bridesmaids dresses will look like. This makes sense, but it puts a delay on booking someone when they don't know what I want. I have found a dress I like for the Bridesmaids but I am trying to find a cheaper version. This is a concern since I know Hunter's mom has to buy two dresses for his sisters. I do have one official decision made: a photographer! This was an easy one since I worked for Wes for two years. I always knew he would do my pictures. We also booked the date for our engagement photos. Now I need to decide what to wear! We got to taste some cakes yesterday. This is my favorite part! Now we have to decide between different fillings and different flavors of cake for the different tiers. Hunter also has to decide what he would like for his grooms cake! So we've been busy, but haven't made many decisions yet. It will all start coming together soon.

Pets

Since I haven't blogged about my dogs yet, its time for you to meet Skeebo and Lucy.
Skeebo is my Westie that Dad gave to me when I graduated high school. He just turned 5 this February and we had a doggie birthday party for him! He seems to be Dad's dog now and I don't think he'll be moving with me to Lexington once I get married. He's such a cute little dog with a ton of personality. He loves to watch TV and protect us from squirrels!

This is Lucy Belle. She was adopted by Hunter and me last November. She is all Beagle, except her ears. We don't know where they came from, but we are thinking Jack Russell due to her energy and jumping ability. She has been living with Hunter in his apartment and is really excited about her new backyard!
This is a more recent picture of how big she has gotten. She is eight months old and the vet told Hunter to stop the puppy food and start her on an adult brand. She is definitely a Daddy's girl, but we both love her very much!

Lucy often comes home to stay with Skeebo. They have a love/hate relationship. Lucy loves to bug Skeebo to death. She chases him around and I guess Skeebo is just not used to another dog being around. This is how Dad found them sacked out on the couch after a long day of running around the yard. I guess you could say they "butt heads" a lot!

256 Oak Pointe Dr

Welcome to our new house! This lovely 3 bedroom 2 bath will be ours in a few weeks. I'm so excited to post these picture. After looking at houses in Irmo and Columbia, we finally found one in Lexington. Hunter spent many afternoons with the realtor trying to find the perfect house for us and he finally did. I think this house was only on the market a few days when Hunter saw it. Then, myself and our parents saw it and we all loved it. It is so cute and will be a great starter home. It's about 3 or 4 years old with little we will need to do to it.

The living room.
I love the kitchen. It has lots a cabinets and big drawers.

Master bedroom.

Guest bedroom. The third bedroom will be made into an office.

Two-car garage! This was a major selling point.

And a backyard for Lucy("our" dog)! This was also a must.

Charly's Graduation

While I was on rotation in Greenville, Charly graduated from 4 year old kindergarten. This is a picture of me and the girls. Charly wore an adorable dress Heather made for her. Charly's class colors were navy and white, so Catie matched with her dress and hat. They are so cute!

Charly's class sang a few songs and then got their diploma's. It's funny to think about how long ago that was for me, but I remember my performance for graduation also. It's neat to think that you stay with the same classmates all through school. For the most part, the people I went to kindergarten with, I graduated high school with.

Michael and Gillian's Wedding

We were so excited to be invited to the rehearsal dinner for Michael and Gillian. We went on a dinner cruise around Charleston Harbor and under the new bridge.
They had a DJ on the boat that entertained us with fun music and lots of dancing!

Saturday morning Aunt Audrey droped Hunter and I off to walk the new bridge. Notice that she is not in the pictures because she did not come with us. She said she had already done it and once is enough! But thanks to Aunt Audrey for letting us stay with her! I'll bring Hunter back so you can really put him to work next time!

The bridge really is incredible and Hunter, being the engineer, was fascinated with the whole thing!
I took this picture for my cousin Stephen since he is a tug boat captain. I thought he might like to see what was going on while he was out of town. I think that is one of his company's tugs.
Us at the top of the first tower. We walked to the middle and then decided to turn around. It was a great day for walking with a nice breeze at the top.

Michael and Gillian did their grand entrance to 2001 Space Odyssey, which is what the USC football team enters to at the beginning of every game (but I'm sure most of you know that)! Gillian's dress was beautiful and she looked great!

They look so happy!

The wedding was in Moncks Corner and the reception was at Cypress Gardens. Thanks for a great weekend! Hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in Savannah!

Hunter's 23rd Birthday

We got to celebrate Hunter's birthday with his dad in town! We were all very excited Mr. Phil got to come home from Carlsbad, NM for the occasion. I know it meant a lot to Hunter for him to be there!
Hunter's family picture with his youngest sister, Hope, middle sister, Haley, Miss Kim, and Mr. Phil. Can't tell they are all related can you?!

Hunter had to wait a while to get his present from me. While in Summerville for Michael and Gillian's wedding, I took him to pick out his favorite Jim Booth print. He was very excited and said it was worth the wait!
