Hunting with Winny

A few weeks ago, I got to go hunting with Hunter and Winny. It was great to see her in action and she what all her training has taught her.
Here is Winny retrieving her bird.
She gets so excited to be in the field.
Pointing her bird.
Got it!
One of my favorite pics from the hunt.

Seeing Double?

Lately, we have been spending lots of time with our friends, Erica and Byron. They are our life group leaders at church and are great to hang out with. Last fall, they invited us over to watch a football game and we found out we had more in common than we thought. I noticed their dog, Maverick, ripping apart a stuffed in the same manner Lucy does. That's when the light bulb went off. I asked Erica where they got Maverick and it turns out he is Lucy's brother!!! Since then, we have all (dogs included) been together a lot. We enjoy spending time with them and so glad to have found friends here!
Lucy and Maverick
Erica knew that Maverick was the runt of the litter and you can tell how much smaller he is.
I love how his feet touch when he sits...so cute!
Thanks for letting us hang out with ya'll so much. We are truly grateful to have found friends like you!

Wicked Weekend

At the beginning of the month, Mrs. Dianne, Mom, me, and Mrs. Susan headed to Greenville for a girls weekend and to see Wicked!
We had a wet weekend, but had we gone the weekend before, we would have been in ice. And the weekend after was snow, so I think wet was a good compromise. We enjoyed fun shopping and good food. Friday, we got to go by my cousin Heater's new embroidery shop called the Sassy Letter in Simpsonville. It was really cute and I was excited to see what all she had. Before the show, we had a great recommendation to eat to Soby's in downtown Greenville.

Wicked did not disappoint! Mrs. Dianne and I had seen it on Broadway last year, and we both agreed the talent was just as good.

Thanks for a great weekend, ladies! We will have to do it again soon when we can do more outside shopping!

SNOW 2010

Last Friday, after my nerve racking drive home, this is how the back yard looked. The interstate was so covered that I couldn't see the lanes. My cars traction light came on frequently and I could feel myself sliding. I did a lot of praying while I was driving 25 mph and God got me home safe. There was 4 and 1/2 inches in the patio table, which became our official measuring spot. Within less than 4 hours we were at 7 and 3/4 inches.

This is how it looked Saturday morning!
Lucy was almost up to her belly in the snow.
This is Winny with her snow mustache. She was looking for her ball to rescue it from the snow and looked up with a snow-covered mussel.
I hated to go to work on this once-every-ten-years snow day.

Snowshoe Ski Trip 2010

Time to ski again!!!
This is one of my favorite trips of the year and I look forward to it all year long! I'm so glad we have made this a tradition with Terri, Billy, Will, Sydney, and the rest of the Myrtle Beach crew.
With all the snow this year, we had great skiing conditions. It was fun to compare skiing out west to skiing in WV.

Hunter and I put our lesson we had in Park City to good use. I skied the best I ever had and this picture is taken at the bottom of the black diamonds of the Western Territory. I have now skied every black at Snowshoe!! Next year...double black here I come!
Guess who??

SYDNEY!
This is the hat Billy wears so we can keep up with our group on the slopes as he leads the way.
Here are the guys waiting on us girls to get ready.
Stopping in for some hot chocolate and a snack.
Too cute!
Ready to hit the slopes.
This is the only picture with Will in it! He has become such a good skier that he can go off with his friends. He accomplished the double black this year and Sydney did the blacks at the Western Territory as well.
Thanks Terri and Billy for another GREAT trip!

The Last of Christmas

Terri and the kids came down the week after Christmas. This gave Dad some time to recoup and worked out well for everyone. We missed Billy and Hunter while they had to stay home to work. I know you both hated missing, as Will calls it, Mema's world famous lasagna. Good thing we had some left over for to-go boxes.
Dad got a new hat and jacket for when he gets back out on the golf course.
Lucy and Skeebo were the only dogs allowed in while we all opened presents. Winny and Piper stayed outside until later.
Sydney got some horse themed stuff including lots of books from Hunter and me. Mom and Dad gave her a horse figurine that played music and a small duffel bag. She also got some new clothes and other goodies.
Hunter and I gave Will and Sydney Gamecock Snuggies.
We also brought them back some souvenirs from when we went to New York in July. Here they are both being the Statue of Liberty. Will got a Sidney Rice Viking's jersey from us.
And he got a Dolphin's jersey from Mom and Dad.
Here is Sydney in all the mess we made opening presents.
Mom found Terri's old baton and gave it to Sydney. Here, Sydney is wearing Mom's majorette outfit that my grandma made for Mom when she was about Sydney's age. I also wore it when I was little for Halloween. It fit Syd perfectly and was so fun seeing her in it.
Here are some pictures of me and the kids. They turned out great!
Here is Terri's family picture. I thought it was great and wanted to post it.

So Christmas was great and I enjoyed all the family time we had with everyone! I ate too much good food and now it time to get ready for 2010.

Christmas at the Grandparents

For Christmas day lunch, we went to Hunter's grandparents for their traditional Low Country Boil.

Here are all the grandkids. We had a wonderful afternoon spending time with the family.

On Christmas morning, Lucy and Winny enjoyed their Christmas treats while we opened presents. This picture just cracked me up. I will never be able to capture a picture like this twice. Lucy's bully stick was almost a big as her.
